Risk Disclosure

What can go wrong when you trade with CandleOdds, in plain language. Read it before you trade or turn on Auto.

The short version

You configure and control the bot; CandleOdds provides software that executes your settings. Trading involves risk of loss. Not financial advice.

Only trade with money you can afford to lose completely.

1. You can lose all the money you trade with

CandleOdds signals are for 15-minute markets on Polymarket that ask whether BTC or ETH will finish a window up or down. Each trade is all or nothing: if the market resolves against you, the whole stake on that trade is lost.

A run of losing trades is normal, even for a method that has done well over time. Losses can come several in a row.

2. Signals can be wrong

  • A signal is the output of a model, not a prediction that is certain to come true and not advice about your situation.
  • The track record shows what happened in the past. It does not guarantee future results, and the method can stop working.
  • Published results are measured at the price when the window opened and before fees. Your own results depend on the price you actually got, on fees, and on which trades you took, so they will differ.

3. Prices, fills and fees

  • These markets move in seconds. The price can change between the signal and your order.
  • Your order may fill at a worse price, fill only in part, or not fill at all. Thin order books make this more likely.
  • Fees reduce every result. Small edges can be wiped out by fees and by buying at a worse price.

4. Automated trading (Auto)

Auto places trades for you without asking each time. That adds risks of its own:

  • It trades every qualifying signal within your limits, including during losing streaks, until a limit you set stops it.
  • Your limits (stake, daily loss limit, trades per day, coins) are the only brakes. Set them to amounts you are comfortable losing.
  • Software can fail. A bug, an outage, a slow provider or a bad price feed can cause a trade to be missed, delayed, repeated or placed at a poor price.
  • The daily loss limit is checked between trades. A trade already placed can take the day's loss past the limit.
  • With hosted Auto you give CandleOdds a limited permission to sign orders for you. It cannot withdraw or move your money, but it can spend your balance on trades within your limits.
  • With self-hosted Auto your private key sits on a hosting account you control. If that account or key is compromised, your funds can be stolen.
  • We can pause Auto at any time for safety. Trades are not placed while it is paused.

5. Polymarket, blockchain and stablecoin risk

  • Trades happen on Polymarket, a third party. It can change its rules, fees or markets, restrict access, suffer an outage or fail.
  • Markets are resolved by Polymarket's own process and data sources. A resolution can be delayed, disputed or differ from what you expected.
  • Your balance is held as a dollar-pegged token on the Polygon blockchain. Tokens can lose their peg, smart contracts can have flaws, and blockchains can be congested or disrupted.
  • Deposits and withdrawals use third-party bridges. A transfer can be delayed, and one sent to a wrong address or on a wrong network can be lost permanently.
  • Blockchain transactions cannot be reversed.

6. Your wallet and your login

  • CandleOdds is non-custodial. We cannot move your funds, and we also cannot restore them if they are lost or stolen.
  • Whoever controls your email login or your private key controls your money. Protect both.
  • Wallets are provided by Privy, a third party. A problem at Privy can stop you logging in or trading for a time.

7. Legal and tax risk

  • Prediction markets are restricted or unlawful in some places, and the rules can change. Access may be removed for your region, possibly at short notice.
  • You are responsible for making sure your use is lawful where you live, and for reporting and paying any tax.

8. No advice

Nothing in CandleOdds is financial, investment, legal or tax advice. We do not know your circumstances and we do not tell you what to do with your money. If you are unsure, speak to a qualified adviser before trading.
